What To Do When Death Occurs…
It is perfectly normal for people to be unsure of what to do following the death of a loved one, but from the moment of your first contact with us you can be guaranteed to receive all the help, guidance and support you need.
Having informed us of a death, one of our Funeral Directors will arrange to meet with you to discuss the funeral and start making the arrangements. This is an opportunity to for you to consider all available options, many of which are featured on this website, and to decide what would be most appropriate for your loved one. We are led completely by the wishes, beliefs and values of the person who has died and those closest to them. We can also advise on all the necessary steps you need to take in the run up to the funeral taking place.
Once you have entrusted your loved one to our care, we will look after them with respect and sensitivity; they will rest with us until the day of the funeral, or, if you prefer, we can arrange for them to be brought home or to a place of worship if this is possible. We wash and dress everyone in our care, carefully following instructions from the family, and can arrange chapel of rest visits if you wish. We have both male and female staff available to help care for the deceased and families are welcome to specify a preference. If you would like to help us look after your loved one then please let us know.
